Ibanez Artstar Hollow Body Guitars

For recording, a hollow or semi-hollow guitar brings a woody, airy character that solid bodies rarely match. Ibanez Artstar, the tier above Artcore, packages that sound in the AS153, AM153, AF200 Prestige and AS113.

Super 58 humbuckers give a warm, rounded signal that tends to sit well in a mix, handy for jazz comping, blues leads and mellow clean tracks. Bone nuts and ebony fingerboards help keep note definition clear, which matters when a part is close-miked or DI'd. The AS and AM designs offer different degrees of resonance, and the AF200 Prestige is the premium option.

Ibanez Artstar Hollow Body Guitars - frequently asked questions

What is the Ibanez Artstar series and how does it differ from Artcore?

Artstar is Ibanez's upmarket hollow and semi-hollow line, positioned above the Artcore range. It centers on the AS153, AM153, AF200 Prestige and AS113, all with classic Ibanez archtop styling. Shared upgrades include Super 58 humbuckers, bone nuts and ebony fingerboards.

Is an Ibanez Artstar a good guitar for jazz, blues and rock?

Yes. Artstar guitars are built for players who want a refined archtop for jazz, blues, rock and fusion without moving into boutique territory. The AS and AM designs cover full-bodied and semi-hollow approaches, while the AF200 Prestige sits at the premium end of the family.

Are Ibanez Artstar B-Stock guitars available?

Yes, B-Stock options appear in the Artstar range, such as the Ibanez AS113BS Artstar B-Stock. These are open-box, discounted units that are fully covered. Availability changes often, so check the live grid for what is currently in stock. Left-handed Artstar models are not currently listed.
