International buyers: how to order and what shipping costs
Yes, we ship worldwide. Studio Gears is a small independent California guitar shop, and about half the people who find us online live outside the US. Here is exactly how buying from us works when you are abroad, what shipping really costs, and why it is often cheaper than your local store even after freight.
How it works
- Pick the instrument on the site (every listing shows live stock and, for B-Stock with a 4-digit serial, photos of the exact guitar).
- Ask for a quote in the chat (bottom-right) or by e-mail to contact@studiogears.com with the product and your postcode. The chat can show you the live UPS rate instantly.
- Pay a PayPal invoice in your own currency (card or PayPal balance, buyer protection included). No PayPal account needed.
- We inspect, pack and ship within 1-3 business days by UPS Worldwide Expedited with tracking and insurance. Most destinations see delivery in 3-6 business days.
What shipping really costs
These are our negotiated UPS rates for a standard electric guitar box (46 x 19 x 5 in, 12 lb) — the same rates you see on our Reverb listings. Basses, Explorer/V shapes and acoustics use a bigger box and cost more; two instruments in one shipment cost less than two separate ones.
| Destination | Standard guitar |
|---|---|
| Australia / New Zealand | from $227 |
| United Kingdom | from $165 |
| Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy | from $165 |
| Spain, Sweden | from $202 |
| Japan, South Korea, Singapore | from $172 |
| Canada | from $61 |
| Mexico | from $71 |
| Brazil | from $290 |
| India | from $254 |
| United Arab Emirates | from $272 |
| Poland, South Africa | from $368 |

No US sales tax, and the price gap
Orders shipped outside California carry no US sales tax. Combined with US pricing on ESP LTD, Schecter, Ibanez and Takamine, many customers in Australia, the UK and Europe find that the guitar plus freight still costs less than the same model at home. Import duties, VAT/GST and customs fees in your country are not included and are collected on delivery by the carrier or your customs office — check your local threshold before ordering.
