Ibanez Artcore Hollow & Semi-Hollow Guitars

Hollow and semi-hollow guitars bring a distinctive character to recordings: a soft attack, round low mids and a natural bloom that sits well behind vocals or alongside keys. Ibanez's Artcore line, running since 2002, offers that sound affordably, with shapes ranging from AS semi-hollows and AM small-body models to AF and AFC full hollow archtops, AG single-cuts and the AMH.

For producers and home-studio owners, the range gives you options for tracking. Semi-hollows give more focus and control when you push the amp, while full hollows give a deeper, warmer tone for jazz comping, blues leads and mellow clean parts. The Expressionist tier, with the AS113 and AMH90, adds ebony boards and Super 58 pickups for clearer definition on the mic.

Studio Gears lists Artcore guitars from about $579 to $1,200, a sensible way to add a different texture to your session toolkit. The grid below shows what is in stock right now.

Ibanez Artcore Hollow & Semi-Hollow Guitars - frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Ibanez Artcore AS, AF and AM guitars?

The Artcore family covers several shapes. AS models are semi-hollows, AF and AFC are full hollow archtops, AM are small-body semi-hollows, AG are single-cut hollows, and there is also the AMH. Each shape balances airy acoustic resonance against resistance to feedback differently, so compare body depths and finishes.

Is the Ibanez Artcore a good guitar for beginners or for jazz and blues?

Yes. Ibanez has built Artcore since 2002 as an affordable route into jazz and blues tones, and most of the range suits players trying warm, rounded hollow-body voices for the first time. The Expressionist tier, including the AS113 and AMH90, adds ebony fingerboards and Super 58 pickups for a more refined feel and tone.

Are there B-Stock or left-handed Ibanez Artcore guitars available?

B-Stock units are part of the current Artcore range, including an AMH90 in Cherry Red Flat and an AS113 in Brown Sunburst. These are open-box, discounted and fully covered. There are currently no left-handed Artcore models listed, and availability changes as stock moves.
