Bedell Acoustic Guitars for Recording

For recording, tonewoods matter because the microphone hears everything. Bedell pairs Adirondack spruce tops with Brazilian rosewood, a combination known for strong dynamics and a rich low end that gives engineers plenty to work with. A limited redwood-topped dreadnought adds a different tonal color to a session.

The two body shapes cover different roles in a mix. A dreadnought, including the cutaway, gives a full-range rhythm track that anchors a song. The Bahia Parlor is tighter and more focused, which can help it sit in a dense arrangement and suits fingerpicked parts and layered overdubs.

This is premium-tier gear for producers and studio owners who want a standout acoustic in their collection. Studio Gears lists the current selection in the live grid below.

Bedell Guitars Acoustic Guitars - frequently asked questions

Are Bedell acoustic guitars good for beginners?

Bedell acoustics sit at the premium end, so they suit serious players and collectors more than first-time buyers. The current selection uses high-end tonewoods such as Adirondack spruce tops with Brazilian rosewood. If you are just starting out, you may want a more affordable guitar first.

What is the difference between the Bedell Bahia Dreadnought and the Bahia Parlor?

Both Bahia models pair an Adirondack spruce top with Brazilian rosewood and come in a natural finish. The difference is body shape. The dreadnought suits strumming and flatpicking with a full voice, while the parlor is smaller and more comfortable, which suits fingerstyle players.

What tonewoods are used on Bedell acoustic guitars?

The current Bedell selection focuses on premium tonewoods. Adirondack spruce tops are paired with Brazilian rosewood, and one limited edition, the LTD Dreadnought Cutaway in Buckskin, combines a redwood top with Brazilian rosewood. Every instrument is set up and professionally packed, with free shipping within the US and 30-day returns.
