Wylde Audio Barbarian: Single-Cut Guitars

For tracking heavy guitars, the Barbarian starts from a solid foundation: a mahogany body, a set neck and a 24.75" scale in a single-cut design. That construction is a classic recipe for thick, sustaining rhythm parts that give a mix a strong low-mid core.

The EMG 81/85 pickup pair defines the recorded sound. Active pickups of this kind tend to deliver a consistent, high-output signal with low noise, which helps when stacking distorted rhythm tracks or pushing amp sims and high-gain preamps hard. The bridge 81 handles tight riffing and leads, and the neck 85 handles smoother solos and fuller tones.

Tiers differ mostly in looks: signature graphics like Buzzsaw, Bullseye and Norse Dragon, RawTop satin and IronWorks finishes, and Special Editions such as Blood Raven, Blood River Burl and Pale Moon Ebony. Left-handed versions are also available. With the lineup spanning about $1,599 to $1,849, Studio Gears offers a range of options for metal and hard-rock sessions.

Wylde Audio Barbarian Guitars - frequently asked questions

Is the Wylde Audio Barbarian a good guitar for metal and hard rock?

Yes, it suits that style. The Barbarian is a single-cutaway with a set-neck, mahogany body and 24.75" scale, loaded with EMG 81/85 pickups. That pickup pairing is associated with high-gain, hard-hitting rock and metal tones, and the design reflects Zakk Wylde's take on the classic single-cut.

What finish options does the Wylde Audio Barbarian come in?

The series offers a wide finish range. Signature graphics include Buzzsaw, Bullseye and Norse Dragon, while RawTop satin and IronWorks finishes give a more stripped-back look. Special Editions such as Blood Raven, Blood River Burl and Pale Moon Ebony add figured and darker looks.

Does the Wylde Audio Barbarian come in a left-handed version?

Yes, left-handed versions are part of the range, including a Blood River Burl Special Edition LH model, so lefties get the same single-cut format. Prices sit in a narrow band, with differences coming mainly from finish and edition. Every guitar is set up and professionally packed, with 30-day returns.
