Takamine Legacy Series Acoustic Guitars

For recording, the Takamine Legacy Series offers a set of solid-top acoustics suited to tracking. The Japan-made EF models (EF341SC, EF341DX, EF261S, EF407 and the koa EF508KC) are dreadnoughts, a shape that tends to sit solidly under vocals and fill out a mix. The EF381SC 12-string is a handy way to add width and sparkle to a chorus.

The SC models carry CT4B II or CTP-3 CoolTube electronics, giving you a direct signal option next to a mic. Blending the two is a practical way to build up layers when you're producing at home. Left-handed versions are available for lefty players who want to track without a workaround.

The Santa Fe family (TSF48C, FSF40C, DSF48C) and the TF77-PT give you other tonal colors for different sessions. Listings run from about $2,200 to $2,650. Check the live grid below, and let Studio Gears help you choose an acoustic for your next record.

Takamine Legacy Series Acoustic Guitars - frequently asked questions

What models are in the Takamine Legacy Series?

The Legacy Series combines the Japan-made EF models with the Santa Fe family. The EF range includes the EF341SC, EF381SC 12-string, EF341DX, koa-appointed EF508KC, EF261S and EF407. The Santa Fe models are the TSF48C, FSF40C and DSF48C, and the TF77-PT rounds out the series.

Can you plug in a Takamine Legacy Series guitar?

Yes. The SC models carry CT4B II or CTP-3 CoolTube electronics, so they are built to be plugged in as well as played unamplified. Tiers differ by body style, wood choice and electronics, so check each model's listing to see which setup it uses before choosing.

Does the Takamine Legacy Series come in left-handed versions?

Yes, several models are available in left-handed versions, which is not always easy to find at this level. Examples include the EF341SC Gloss Black and the EF341DX Dreadnought acoustic-electric. Every instrument is set up and professionally packed, and free US shipping and 30-day returns apply.
