Schecter USA Custom Shop Guitars

A guitar that records well starts with the build, and Schecter's USA Custom Shop in Sun Valley, California, puts its top-tier work into lines such as the CET and California Custom Elite, the Traditional Wembley HSS, the Sunset Extreme, the Sunset Custom-II, Masterwork models, and the California Classic. Studio Gears carries a changing selection.

For session work, the variety is the draw. The HSS layout on the Wembley and Sunset Custom-II suggests a range of tones from a single instrument, which is handy when a producer asks for another part. The 7-string Sunset Extreme is worth a look for low-tuned tracking, while the CET with its koa top adds a different visual and tonal character to your guitar rack.

Prices run from about $2,500 to just over $5,000. For a home-studio owner or producer, a Custom Shop guitar is a long-term tracking tool. Browse the live grid below to see which models are available now.
