For recording heavy music, a seven-string changes what you can track. The Schecter C-7 puts a low string on a C-shape double-cutaway body, giving producers and engineers a direct way to capture the deep, tight rhythm parts that define modern metal and djent without relying on pitch-shifting tricks.

Within the series, the C-7 Deluxe is the practical session guitar, and the left-handed version serves lefty players who track their own parts. The C-7 FR SLS Elite adds a Floyd Rose-style tremolo, handy for tracking dive-bombs and expressive pitch moves, though it calls for a bit more care when tuning between takes. Satin Black and Blood Burst finishes round out the options.

Prices run from around $449 to $1,699, which makes it simple to outfit a home studio with a dedicated extended-range guitar for layered riffs, low-tuned rhythm tracks and heavy lead work. Studio Gears carries the series for anyone building a modern metal production toolkit.
