Sound & Tone
The 27-inch baritone scale and 8-string layout keep the low strings tight and defined, while the alder body, bolt-on neck and maple fingerboard push a bright, snappy attack that favors percussive picking and clear note separation in dense chord voicings. The Fishman Fluence Javier Reyes set covers a wide span: the Classic Open Core bridge humbucker offers three switchable voices from thick, growling low end to cutting lead tones, and the middle and neck Single Width pickups add transparent, glassy single-coil textures through the 5-way switch. It suits progressive and technical metal, djent-style rhythm work and extended-range fusion or clean ambient passages, with the double-locking Floyd Rose supporting vibrato-heavy playing and dive bombs.
ESP LTD JRV-8FR Javier Reyes Guitar in Metallic Gold
The JRV-8FR captures extended-range playing with precision and clarity in the studio or live setting. Its thin, flat neck contour and 22 extra-jumbo frets enable fast tracking takes and complex voicings, while the 27-inch baritone scale and 8-string configuration unlock deep, articulate lows without compromising upper-register definition. Designed in collaboration with Javier Reyes of Animals as Leaders and Mestis, this instrument pairs responsiveness with tuning stability through its bolt-on alder body and 5-piece maple/walnut neck. The striking Metallic Gold finish with gold hardware delivers visual presence that translates to recorded impact.
Recording & Tonal Character
The bolt-on neck construction paired with an alder body produces a bright, articulate foundation—ideal for capturing percussive picking dynamics and sustaining tones that cut through dense arrangements. A thin-flat neck contour, 500mm fingerboard radius, and maple fingerboard with double-bar abalone inlays accommodate comfortable tracking across the extended 8-string range, while 22 extra-jumbo frets support aggressive bending and smooth position shifts that translate cleanly to microphone or line input.
Pickup System & Sonic Versatility
The Fishman Fluence Signature Series 8-String Javier Reyes pickup set—featuring a Classic Open Core bridge pickup with three switchable voices, plus dual Single Width pickups in the middle and neck—captures tonal range from thick, defined lows to searing lead clarity and transparent single-coil character. The H/S/S configuration, paired with one volume control, two tone knobs, and a 5-way switch, provides intuitive access to tonal options across alternative tunings and genre-specific session requirements.
