Frequently Asked Questions
What does the ZC7 actually control on a ZonePRO unit?
The ZC7 provides programmable push-to-talk page assignment control via analog DC voltage logic. It lets you select zones, switch programs or scenes, and manage muting from a remote wall-mounted location.
How far can I run cable from the ZonePRO to the ZC7?
Maximum distance is 1000 feet when using parallel wiring with the optional ZC-BOB adapter and CAT5 or CAT5E cable. With multiple controllers daisy-chained, distances vary; three controllers support 600 feet, six controllers support 300 feet.
What is B-Stock and why is the price lower?
B-Stock means the unit is fully functional and factory-tested, but may have minor cosmetic imperfections from handling or display. It performs identically to new merchandise at a discount.
What cable and connectors do I need?
The ZC7 uses two RJ-45 connectors and connects via readily available CAT5 or CAT5E cable with nominal DCR of 28.6 Ohm/1000ft and VW-1 or higher safety rating. You can source these connectors and cables from any standard vendor.
Can I use this with other dbx processors besides ZonePRO?
The ZC7 is specifically designed for ZonePRO devices. The ZC zone controller family supports DriveRack and ZonePRO units, but confirm compatibility with your exact processor model before purchasing.
