Sound & Tone
The solid spruce top over sapele back and sides gives this New Yorker a warm, articulate voice with clear note definition and natural sustain, while the compact parlor-style body pushes the emphasis toward midrange focus rather than deep low end. The short 644mm scale and 42.5mm nut make it easy to fret chords and fingerpick, suiting singer-songwriters, folk and blues players, and anyone wanting a controlled, vocal-friendly acoustic for close-quarters playing. The TP-3G system with onboard tuner and 3-band EQ lets you shape that midrange clarity when plugged in for small stages or recording.
Takamine GY21E LH SM Acoustic Guitar – Solid Spruce Top, Satin Molasses, Left-Handed
The Takamine GY21E LH SM is a left-handed New Yorker body acoustic engineered for studio tracking and live recording sessions. The solid spruce top captures articulate, note-for-note definition with natural projection, whether recorded acoustically or direct-input through the onboard system. The satin molasses finish and ergonomic body shape support long tracking sessions without fatigue, while the responsive playability ensures consistent takes and clean capture across multiple passes.
Tone & Construction
A solid spruce top paired with sapele back and sides produces a warm, well-defined tone with focused sustain that cuts through a mix without requiring heavy post-processing. The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard deliver tonal coloration and structural stability across long recording days, while the New Yorker body shape emphasizes midrange clarity—essential for acoustic parts that sit alongside vocals, percussion, and other instruments in the mix.
Recording & Workflow
The TP-3G electronics system includes a built-in tuner and 3-band EQ for on-the-fly tone shaping during tracking without breaking session workflow. A 644mm scale length with a 42.5mm nut width provide consistent finger positioning for tight, repeatable performances across multiple takes, while the left-handed configuration serves producers and engineers who need an instrument built for their dominant hand.
