Description
Sound & Tone
All-sapele construction across the top, back and sides gives the GN11M a warm, articulate voice with good sustain and clarity, while the satin finish and mahogany/laurel build let the body resonate openly. The NEX shape projects well without the bulk of a full dreadnought, and the 644mm scale with 42.5mm nut keeps string spacing comfortable for fingerstyle detail as well as flatpicked rhythm. With no onboard electronics, what you hear is the unamplified acoustic tone — a natural fit for folk, singer-songwriter accompaniment and lighter acoustic playing.
Takamine GN11M NS Acoustic Guitar Natural Satin
The Takamine GN11M captures a balanced, responsive tone that records cleanly across fingerpicking and strumming textures. Its NEX body shape delivers focused projection ideal for tracking acoustic parts in the studio, while the natural satin finish enhances the instrument's organic resonance for a slightly more open, uncolored acoustic character. This straightforward, reliable instrument is built to track consistently across folk, singer-songwriter, and lighter acoustic arrangements without electronic complications.
Tone & Construction
The all-sapele construction—top, back, and sides—produces a warm, articulate tone with excellent sustain and clarity that cuts through dense mixes or sits naturally in sparse arrangements. Mahogany neck and laurel fingerboard complete a solid, resonant build that captures both precise fingerstyle detail and confident flatpicking without onboard electronics to color or muddy the pure acoustic voice.
Playability & Session Versatility
A 42.5mm nut width and 644mm scale length provide comfortable finger spacing and reliable intonation for accurate tracking across multiple takes. The NEX body shape combined with compact overall dimensions (1053.9mm length, 398.1mm width, 110mm depth) enables quick hand adjustments during session work while maintaining the acoustic projection needed for clean, isolated recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions
What skill level is this guitar built for?
The GN11M is designed for beginners and intermediate players. The 42.5mm nut width and balanced neck geometry reduce hand fatigue during extended practice, and the responsive sapele construction rewards both precise fingerstyle technique and confident strumming without requiring advanced setup knowledge.
Does this guitar have a pickup or built-in electronics?
No—the GN11M is purely acoustic with no onboard electronics. This keeps the tone warm and articulate without preamp coloration, making it ideal for recording and live playing where you want uncolored wood resonance.
What genres and styles is this guitar best suited for?
The GN11M excels in folk, singer-songwriter, fingerstyle, and practice contexts. Its warm, clear tone and full sustain work well for lighter acoustic repertoires; it is not voiced for metal or hard rock applications.
Is this guitar comfortable for players with smaller hands?
Yes. The compact NEX body shape, 644mm scale length, and overall dimensions (1053.9mm length × 398.1mm width × 110mm depth) make it accessible for players with varying hand sizes, while still maintaining full acoustic projection.
What comes with the guitar?
The guitar itself is included; a case is not included with purchase, so you may want to budget separately for protective gig bag or hard case.
Do I pay sales tax on this order?
Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. At a typical 7% rate that is an estimated $24 less at checkout than the same listed price on a marketplace, which collects sales tax as the facilitator in most states. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.
