Description
Seymour Duncan SH-PG1n Prly Gates Raw Nickel Rad Gold Msh Pickup
The SH-PG1n is a neck-position humbucker engineered to capture articulate, vintage-voiced aggression with controlled midrange punch in recordings. This pickup pairs classic P.A.F.-style character with modern potting techniques, making it ideal for home studios tracking rhythm parts and lead lines that need clarity without losing warmth and musicality in the mix.
Tonal Character & Recording Response
Built around an Alnico 2 bar magnet, the SH-PG1n produces a balanced, vintage-leaning response with definition across the frequency spectrum. The nickel silver bottom plate contributes to the pickup's articulation, allowing note separation and harmonic complexity to sit well in a mix without harshness, translating effectively to both clean and driven recordings.
Construction & Studio Integration
Hand-built in Santa Barbara, the pickup uses vacuum wax potting to eliminate microphonic feedback while preserving natural resonance for session work. The 4-conductor lead wire provides flexibility for series, parallel, and split configurations, giving your home studio multiple tonal options for different tracking scenarios without requiring additional modifications or equipment swaps.
