The SH-8b bridge generates substantial output at 16.8k DC resistance for aggressive attack and thick saturation that sits forward in a mix, while the SH-8n neck sits at a much lower 7.2k DC resistance, preserving articulation and note separation in the upper register during layered recording sessions. This asymmetrical pairing lets you dial in different response characteristics between neck and bridge positions, giving you tonal control without sacrificing either—essential when stacking rhythm and lead takes in the same session.

Construction & Design

Vacuum wax-potted coils eliminate feedback and squealing for clean recording, while wide pole pieces accommodate both standard humbucker and Trembucker string spacing. Hand-built in Santa Barbara with over-wound construction, these pickups are engineered for durability and consistent output across multiple takes.
