Seymour Duncan Phat Cat Silencer Bridge Vnt Gold Pickup

Seymour Duncan Phat Cat Silencer Bridge Vintage Gold Pickup

The Phat Cat Silencer captures single-coil clarity and articulation without the noise floor that traditionally compromises vintage-voiced pickups in the tracking environment. This bridge unit pairs aggressive midrange punch with transparent treble, delivering authentic P-90 character in a humbucker-sized format that fits standard guitar cavities—ideal for sessions requiring clean, hum-free recordings without tonal compromise.

Tone & Recording Character

A vintage-voiced humbucker-sized P-90 single-coil, this pickup emphasizes woody mids and snappy transients over high-output volume. The noiseless design eliminates the 60-cycle hum endemic to traditional single coils, preserving the pickup's natural response while removing unwanted interference—a practical advantage for recording and mixing without sacrificing vintage tone. The result sits clearly in a mix with minimal post-production noise management.

Design & Construction

Handmade in Santa Barbara, California, this pickup features a gold cover finish and maintains the dimensional compatibility required for standard humbucker routing. The single-coil architecture under the humbucker shell allows it to pair effectively with matching neck pickups or serve as a bridge-only upgrade in mixed-pickup configurations, giving your tracking sessions flexible tonal options.
