Description
Seymour Duncan Lipstick Tube Strat Pickup Set
The Lipstick Tube set captures the clarity and warmth essential for professional recordings. These hand-built pickups deliver smooth, articulate response across all three positions—tracking single-note passages with precision while maintaining body and definition in chord stacks. The result is a versatile pickup set that translates to mix-ready tones straight from the source.
Recording Tone & Performance
Built around Alnico 5 bar magnets, these pickups produce balanced output with controlled character across the frequency spectrum. The neck and middle are voiced at 3.40k DCR for responsive, articulate high-end definition—critical for cutting through dense arrangements. The bridge's 5.10k DCR provides increased output and sustain for punchy rhythm takes and lead lines. The reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup eliminates hum in positions 2 and 4, essential for clean DI tracking and layering without unwanted noise artifacts.
Construction & Studio Integration
Vacuum wax potting suppresses microphonic feedback and squeal, ensuring stable, predictable performance during long tracking sessions. Each pickup is hand built in Santa Barbara, CA and fitted with standard Strat-sized mounting brackets and 2-conductor shielded lead wire for reliable, noise-free installation into any compatible instrument.
