Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Thrash Factor Trembucker Black Pickup
The Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Thrash Factor Trembucker is engineered to capture aggressive, high-output tone for recording modern metal and hard rock. This signature model delivers the raw, cutting character that defined Mustaine's studio sound across landmark recordings, bringing decades of documented tonal expertise into a single high-performance pickup designed for the session and home-studio environment.
Recording Tone & Output
With a DC resistance of 16.4 kΩ and Alnico V magnet, this pickup generates substantial output and clarity across the frequency spectrum, translating well through audio interfaces and mixing chains. The elevated resistance provides aggressive midrange punch and sustain that cuts through dense mixes without sacrificing articulation on palm-muted riffs or fast lead passages during overdub sessions.
Studio Compatibility & Wiring Flexibility
Built as a Trembucker with wider pole spacing, this pickup accommodates both tremolo bridge systems and wide-spaced hardtail bridges, adapting to whatever guitar platform suits your session needs. The four-conductor cable enables flexible wiring options for coil-splitting or series/parallel switching, allowing you to expand tonal palette and adjust the pickup's character across different tracks or production approaches.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this pickup different from a standard bridge pickup?
The Thrash Factor is built as a Trembucker with wider pole spacing designed to work with both tremolo bridge systems and wide-spaced hardtail bridges. Its 16.4 kΩ DC resistance and Alnico V magnet deliver higher output and aggressive midrange character specifically tuned for modern metal and hard rock.
Can I use this in different guitar configurations?
Yes. The Trembucker design accommodates tremolo bridges and wide-spaced hardtail bridges across different guitar setups. The four-conductor cable also allows for flexible wiring, including coil-splitting or series/parallel switching if your guitar supports those options.
How does this pickup handle fast playing and palm muting?
The elevated resistance and Alnico V magnet provide substantial output and sustain while maintaining articulation on fast passages and palm-muted riffs, so each note stays defined even in dense, aggressive playing styles.
What is included with this pickup?
The pickup comes hand-built with a four-conductor cable for wiring flexibility. It is finished in black and ready to install in compatible guitar configurations.
Why choose a signature pickup over a standard high-output model?
Signature pickups are voiced by the artist to match their exact tone and playing style. This model captures the specific aggressive character and sustain Dave Mustaine achieved on classic recordings, tuned for metal and hard-rock applications.
