Seymour Duncan AHB-1b Blackouts Bridge Pickup – Black Chrome

The Seymour Duncan AHB-1b Blackouts is a high-output active humbucker designed to capture aggressive tones with exceptional clarity, articulation, and punch while maintaining tonal definition across the frequency spectrum. This bridge model delivers a tight, controlled response with extended range—essential for tracking metal, hardcore, and modern rock in the studio where fast transient capture and noise rejection preserve detail during layering and overdub sessions.

Active Design & Recording Performance

Built as a 9-volt active humbucker, the AHB-1b uses onboard electronics to achieve 12–14dB less noise than passive alternatives while maintaining increased output, extended low-end response, and enhanced high-frequency clarity. The three-conductor shielded cable ensures clean signal transfer to your interface with minimal interference, preserving every detail during tracking and mix-ready captures.

Tone Characteristics & Studio Integration

A ceramic bar magnet and tuned 530 KHz resonant peak produce aggressive midrange presence paired with open highs that cut through dense mixes without muddiness. The onboard EQ stack—Bass: 6, Mid: 5, Treble: 8—is optimized for the bridge position to deliver focus and separation when layering guitars in multi-track sessions. Installation is straightforward with included mounting hardware, pots, output jack, battery clip, quick-connector cables, capacitor, and all wiring necessary to get recording immediately.
