Sound & Tone
The Schecter USA Synyster Gates Signature humbucker in the bridge pushes a high-output, aggressive voice, while the mahogany body and ebony fretboard underneath add warmth and a firm attack that keeps fast riffing articulate. The Sustainiac neck pickup with its two mini mode switches turns held notes into endless sustain and controlled feedback textures, and the 25.5" scale keeps string tension tight and defined for low-tuned rhythm work. With a Floyd Rose 1500 locking system for dive bombs and 24 X-Jumbo frets on a 16" radius, it is aimed squarely at metal, hard rock, and lead-driven playing.
Schecter Synyster Custom-S Guitar Distressed Satin Black
The Synyster Custom-S captures aggressive, articulate tones in the studio with its ultra-thin "C" neck profile and 25.5" scale, enabling precise tracking of fast lead lines and complex rhythmic passages. Built from 3-piece mahogany with carbon fiber reinforcement, the neck maintains rock-solid tuning stability across long recording sessions, while 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets deliver clarity and definition on every tracked take. The distressed satin black finish and iconic "SYN" and "Deathbat" inlays signal an instrument engineered for high-gain production work without compromise.
Recording Performance & Construction
The ultra-thin "C" neck shape paired with a 16" fretboard radius and 41.3mm nut width provides comfortable access for tracking intricate lead passages and complex chord voicings in overdub sessions. Deep Insert Joint construction with Ultra Access ensures zero fret rattle when capturing those highest-register licks, while the 3-piece mahogany neck with carbon fiber reinforcement rods maintains intonation stability throughout multi-hour tracking days and maintains true pitch under the demands of heavy tuning and pitch-bend work.
Tone & Electronics for Mix Integration
The Schecter USA Synyster Gates Signature Humbucker in the bridge delivers high-output aggression that cuts through dense mixes and sits present in the rhythm pocket, while the Sustainiac neck pickup unlocks infinite sustain and textural feedback options controlled by two dedicated mini switches—useful for ambient layering and lead embellishment in post-production. The Floyd Rose 1500 locking bridge and nut hold tuning across extreme tremolo techniques used in studio arrangements, while the ebony fretboard and mahogany body contribute warmth and resonance that translates well to both direct recording and amplifier mic'ing setups.
