Sound & Tone
The mahogany body with burl top and bolt-on maple neck lends a firm midrange and solid sustain, while the 25.5"–27.5" multiscale keeps the lowest strings tight and clearly pitched rather than loose or muddy. The Schecter Diamond Heretic humbuckers push articulate high-end detail with a controlled low end, and the 5-way switching adds thinner, more scooped voicings for cleaner passages. It's aimed squarely at extended-range metal, progressive and djent-style playing where low-tuned riffs need definition, with the rosewood board and 20" radius supporting wide chord voicings and fast single-note runs.
Schecter Omen Elite-8 MS LH in Black Cherry Burst
This left-handed 8-string multiscale delivers balanced tonality and precise intonation across the extended range, thanks to its thin "C"-profile neck and carefully graduated fret heights that maintain playability without compromising ergonomics. The Black Cherry Burst finish over a mahogany body with burl top creates visual depth while maintaining the structural integrity needed for an extended-range instrument. Built for producers and engineers tracking heavy material or exploring drop-tuned textures in the home studio or professional session environment.
Construction & Hardware
The bolt-on mahogany body with arched burl top and black 1-ply binding provides solid sustain and tonal resonance across the extended range, capturing articulate attack and controlled decay in recordings. Hardware includes a Hipshot 8-String Multiscale Fixed Bridge paired with Schecter tuners and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, ensuring stable tuning and precise intonation across all eight strings—critical for the 25.5" to 27.5" multiscale span and essential for tracking sessions where tuning stability directly impacts overdubbing and layer alignment.
Playability & Electronics
The 24 jumbo frets on a 20" radius rosewood fretboard with pearloid line inlays provide excellent note definition and comfortable access across the wider fingerboard, reducing fatigue during extended tracking sessions. Dual Schecter Diamond Heretic pickups with volume, tone, and 5-way switching deliver articulate high-end detail and controlled low-end response essential for eight-string extended-range playing—capturing clarity in dense mixes and translating predictably across monitoring systems—while Grip Tip Speed Knobs allow quick tonal adjustments between takes without reaching for screwdrivers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the multiscale design important for an 8-string guitar?
The multiscale neck spans from 25.5" to 27.5" along the fingerboard, which ensures each string has the proper tension and intonation across the extended range. This graduated scaling prevents the longer bass strings from sounding flabby and keeps the shorter treble strings responsive and in tune.
Is this guitar suitable for metal and djent playing?
Yes. The Schecter Omen Elite-8 MS LH is purpose-built for metal, djent, progressive, and drop-tuning styles, with articulate high-end pickups, controlled low-end response, and a Hipshot bridge engineered specifically for extended-range tuning systems.
What comes with the guitar?
The guitar includes a set of Ernie Ball 8-String Skinny Top strings. Hardware and electronics (Hipshot bridge, Schecter tuners, Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, and Diamond Heretic pickups) are installed and ready to play.
How does the thin C-profile neck feel on a wider 8-string fingerboard?
The thin C-profile maintains a responsive, comfortable feel despite the wider fingerboard required for eight strings. Carefully graduated fret heights and a 20" radius fretboard balance accessibility and precision, making it suitable for advanced and professional players.
Does this guitar hold tuning well across all eight strings?
Yes. The combination of the Hipshot 8-String Multiscale Fixed Bridge, Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut (2.205" width), and Schecter tuners is engineered to maintain stable, precise intonation across the entire extended range.
