The swamp ash body and bolt-on maple neck with a maple fretboard give this bass a bright, snappy foundation with clear note definition and plenty of low-end punch. The EMG P/J pairing runs on 18 volts, so you get the thick midrange growl of the split-coil neck pickup, the tighter bite of the bridge J, and a headroom-rich, low-noise output that stays clean when dug into. With a 34" scale, a thin 'C' neck, and string-thru or top-load bridge options, it covers rock, funk, and modern pop or metal work equally well, whether played with fingers, a pick, or slapped.
