Description
Sound & Tone
The active EMG 81 in the bridge delivers tight, high-output attack with sharp treble definition for palm-muted riffing and cutting leads, while the EMG 85 at the neck fills out into thicker, warmer territory that stays articulate on cleans and sustained solo lines. Mahogany with an arched top and set-neck construction adds low-midrange weight and sustain behind that clarity, and the 25.5" scale keeps string tension firm for tuned-down chugging and precise intervals. With a Floyd Rose Special and locking nut holding pitch through bends and divebombs, it's aimed squarely at metal, hard rock, and progressive playing where speed and tuning stability matter.
Schecter Damien Platinum-6 FR Left-Handed Electric Guitar in Satin Black
The Damien Platinum-6 FR LH captures aggressive tones and technical performances with its thin 'C' neck profile and 24 X-Jumbo frets across a 14" fretboard radius. The set-neck construction with Ultra Access ensures left-handed players reach upper frets cleanly while maintaining solid body resonance and sustain. Built for high-gain recording sessions and dynamic studio work across metal, hard rock, and progressive material.
Playability & Recording Performance
The neck measures .787" at the first fret and .866" at the 12th fret—a slim profile optimized for fast tracking and precision articulation. The 25.5" scale paired with 24 X-Jumbo frets provides substantial range for interval work and lead layering, while the Floyd Rose Special bridge and locking nut system maintain tuning stability through aggressive bending and extreme pitch shifts in post-production.
Tone & Pickup Electronics
The EMG 81 bridge pickup and EMG 85 neck pickup combination delivers high-output aggression for chunky rhythm tones and warm, articulate cleans for layering and texture work, with a 3-way switch for seamless pickup selection. Active electronics powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment ensure consistent, noise-free output across any recording dynamic or mix balance.

What does open box mean, and what condition is this guitar in?
This unit was unboxed, inspected, and set up by our techs but remains unplayed and ships in original packaging with all factory accessories. Open box means it carries a reduced price despite being essentially new.
Is this guitar good for metal and technical shredding?
Yes. The thin 'C' neck profile, 24 X-Jumbo frets, 25.5" scale length, and Floyd Rose Special bridge are engineered for speed and aggressive bending, while EMG 81/85 active pickups deliver the high-output tone and tuning stability metal and progressive playing demands.
How does the neck feel, and will it support upper-fret work?
The set-neck construction with Ultra Access provides solid playability all the way to the 24th fret without sacrificing body resonance. The thin 'C' profile measures 0.787" at the first fret and 0.866" at the 12th fret, rewarding speed and interval precision.
What pickups are in this guitar, and how do they sound?

How stable is the Floyd Rose bridge for drop tunings and aggressive playing?
The Floyd Rose Special locking nut (1.625" width) and bridge combo delivers tuning stability through aggressive bending, divebombs, and sustained technical passages, especially across drop-tuned sessions.
