Description

Schecter C-1 Hydro-dip guitar in Midnight Tide

The Schecter C-1 Hydro-dip pairs Schecter's proven C-1 platform with a true water-transfer hydro-dip finish. Every body is dipped by hand, yielding a unique pattern of metallic blue (Midnight Tide) across the arched top, sides, back and headstock—no two guitars match. The result records with consistent tonal character while offering a visually distinctive instrument for overdub sessions, live tracking, and multi-take environments. Underneath sits a full-spec modern C-1: mahogany body, bolt-on rock maple neck, Richlite fingerboard, locking tuners and a pair of Schecter Hellfire humbuckers.

Neck and playability

A bolt-on rock maple neck with Schecter's Thin “C” profile (20 mm at the 1st fret, 22 mm at the 12th) carries a 25.5” scale, 14” radius Richlite fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, black 1-ply binding and aluminum offset/reverse-circle inlays with a hydro-dip inlay at the 12th fret. A Graph Tech Black Tusq XL nut (42 mm) and a 2-way truss rod round out the neck; the satin-black finished neck and tilt-back headstock with volute are pure C-1. The thin profile and 25.5” scale support fast tracking work and favor clarity in dense arrangements.

Body, electronics and hardware

The mahogany body (47 mm, arched top with R4 bottom-edge radius) is loaded with Schecter Hellfire HB105SC humbuckers in the neck and bridge, wired to volume, tone and a 3-way toggle with a Switchcraft jack. The Hellfire pair delivers controlled output with balanced harmonic content across rhythm and lead takes. A TonePros T3BT Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body anchoring, Schecter locking tuners and satin black hardware keep tuning stable and sustain long through extended sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What neck profile does the C-1 have, and is it comfortable for long sessions?

The neck features Schecter's Thin C profile, measuring 20 mm at the 1st fret and 22 mm at the 12th fret, combined with a 25.5-inch scale and 14-inch radius Richlite fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets. This profile and radius are designed for fast playability and comfort during extended playing, making it well-suited to intermediate and advanced players tackling complex material.

What makes the Midnight Tide finish unique?

Each C-1 Hydro-dip receives a hand-applied water-transfer hydro-dip in Midnight Tide, a metallic blue finish applied to the arched top, sides, back, and headstock. Because every guitar is dipped by hand, no two patterns are identical, giving you a truly one-of-a-kind instrument.

What pickups are in this guitar, and what tone should I expect?

The C-1 is loaded with Schecter Hellfire HB105SC humbuckers in both neck and bridge positions, voiced for punchy midrange, articulate highs, solid sustain, and modern crunch with a tight low end. This pairing works exceptionally well for hard rock, metal, and progressive styles.

How does the bridge affect tuning stability and sustain?

The guitar features a TonePros T3BT Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body anchoring paired with Schecter locking tuners, both designed to lock your tuning in place and maximize sustain through long sets or tracking sessions.

Is this guitar suitable for studio recording as well as live performance?

Yes—the C-1 is listed as ideal for both gigging and studio sessions, and the combination of mahogany body, rock maple neck, and Hellfire pickups makes it equally reliable for capturing heavy tones in the studio or holding up night after night on the road.
