Description
Sound & Tone
The active EMG 81 in the bridge pushes tight, high-output crunch with sharp attack and long sustain, while the EMG 60 at the neck stays clear and articulate for leads and clean passages, all seated on a mahogany body with flamed maple top that adds weight underneath and brightness up top. The 25.5" scale and ebony fretboard keep low notes firm and defined, which suits down-driven riffing, fast picking, and cutting solo lines. With the Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo, 24 X-Jumbo frets, and a flat 14" radius, it leans toward metal, hard rock, and shred playing where dive bombs and wide bends are part of the vocabulary.
Schecter Banshee GT FR Electric Guitar Satin Trans Blue B-Stock
The Banshee GT FR is engineered for studio tracking and high-gain production work, featuring an ultra-thin 'U' neck profile and 25.5" scale that enables quick, precise finger placement during takes. Set-neck construction with ultra access design balances tonal stability with immediate playability, while the Floyd Rose Special 'Hot Rod' locking tremolo ensures rock-solid intonation across aggressive riff work and effects-heavy sessions. B-stock condition with cosmetic finish cracks in the fret binding and a white spot on the body—fully functional and ready to play.
Recording & Build Quality
The neck features a 3-piece maple construction with carbon fiber reinforcement rods, paired with an ebony fretboard and 24 X-Jumbo frets on a 14" radius for articulate note definition and minimal finger noise during recording. The ultra-thin neck measures just .748" at the first fret and .787" at the 12th fret, allowing fatigue-free tracking sessions and consistent performance across lead and rhythm parts.
Tone & Active Electronics
Active EMG 81 bridge and EMG 60 neck pickups deliver the high-output clarity and compressed sustain essential for cutting through dense mixes and modern production. The 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers the active circuit, while the 3-way switch, volume, and tone controls offer responsive shaping for layering textures from clean to heavily saturated tones across multiple takes.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does B-stock mean for this guitar?
B-stock means the Banshee GT FR is fully functional with minor cosmetic imperfections—in this case, fret binding cracks and a white spot on the body. The playability, electronics, and tonal performance are completely uncompromised.
Is this guitar suitable for drop tunings and aggressive playing?
Yes. The 25.5" scale, set-neck construction, Floyd Rose Special Hot Rod locking tremolo, and carbon-reinforced maple neck are all designed to handle drop tunings, heavy bending, and aggressive whammy bar work without tuning drift or structural issues.
What genres is this guitar best for?
The Banshee GT FR is purpose-built for metal, hard rock, and progressive music. Its high-output EMG pickups, tight low-end, and aggressive sustain are not ideal for jazz, folk, or country applications.
How does the neck feel compared to other modern metal guitars?
The ultra-thin 'U' profile neck measures just 0.748" at the first fret and 0.787" at the 12th fret, offering faster fretboard access and less hand fatigue than thicker profiles. The 3-piece maple construction with carbon fiber reinforcement rods provides stability while keeping weight minimal.
What pickups does this guitar have, and can they be changed?
The Banshee GT FR comes equipped with EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG 60 (neck) active pickups, which deliver high-output clarity and professional-grade sustain. The EMG system requires a 9-volt battery via the clip-in compartment and can be replaced if desired.
