Sound & Tone
The basswood body with arched top keeps the midrange focused and even, while the Schecter USA Solstice bridge and Equinox neck pickups stay articulate and uncolored — clear attack from the bridge, rounder warmth from the neck, with a 5-way switch for blended in-between voices. The wenge neck, Macassar ebony fretboard, and 25.5" scale add snap and definition to individual notes, and the Black Tusq nut brings bright harmonic clarity that helps single-note lines and cleans read distinctly. That combination suits progressive and instrumental rock, modern fusion, and post-rock textures where chord voicings need to stay transparent, and the compound-radius board with 24 stainless frets and a two-point tremolo supports fast legato runs, wide bends, and expressive vibrato work.
Schecter AM-6 Aaron Marshall Guitar Arctic Jade
The Schecter AM-6 captures articulate, cutting tones through its carefully voiced pickup configuration designed for modern mix clarity. The thin "C" neck profile and 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets enable precise articulation and fast technical passages without fatigue during long tracking sessions. Built in Indonesia with premium components throughout, this signature model delivers both tonal character and ergonomic comfort across a wide range of recording applications and playing styles.
Playability & Neck Design
The wenge neck features a thin "C" profile with progressive thickness—measuring 0.787" at the 1st fret and 0.866" at the 12th fret—that supports extended takes and fast position shifts without sacrificing control. A 12"–16" compound radius fretboard paired with 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets and Macassar ebony construction enables smooth string bending and consistent intonation across the full 25.5" scale length, critical for layered guitar tracking and clean overdubs.
Tone & Recording Character
The Schecter USA Solstice bridge pickup and Schecter USA Equinox neck pickup deliver articulate clarity and natural warmth without coloration, controlled through a dedicated volume, tone, and 5-way switch configuration for session flexibility. The Gotoh Vintage 2-Point Tremolo maintains intonation stability across takes while the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut ensures reliable tuning retention and bright harmonic clarity that translates accurately to tape.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this guitar suitable for metal and progressive styles?
Yes—the AM-6 is specifically engineered for progressive and metal playing. Its thin C-neck, 24 X-Jumbo frets, and articulate Solstice and Equinox pickups provide the clarity, speed, and tonal control those genres demand. The 25.5" scale length and tight fret action also suit downtuning and aggressive techniques.
What skill level do I need to play this guitar effectively?
This is an intermediate-to-advanced and professional instrument. While it excels for technical players tackling complex passages and fast articulation, its playability and fret-access make it accessible to committed intermediate players ready to develop precision technique.
How does the compound-radius fretboard affect playability?
The 12"–16" compound radius curves flatter at the headstock for easier chord play and bending, then gradually compound toward the body for lower action and cleaner lead work. Stainless steel X-Jumbo frets amplify this comfort, reducing finger fatigue during long technical passages and enabling smooth string bends.
What's included with the guitar?
The AM-6 ships with a set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046). You will need to acquire a case or gig bag separately.
How stable is the tremolo system?
The Gotoh Vintage 2-Point Tremolo paired with Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut ensures solid intonation retention and minimal tuning drift, even with frequent tremolo use or aggressive bending.
