SABIAN 18" Artisan Sym Medium Light Single
This 18" Artisan Medium Light cymbal responds with immediacy and clarity, delivering quick articulation across a broad dynamic range. The medium-light weight classification produces a splashier quality with shorter sustain than its heavier counterparts, making it exceptionally versatile for capturing both delicate passages and punchy crashes in the studio. Hand-crafted by master artisans using centuries-old techniques, this cymbal bridges traditional orchestral sound with modern recording demands.
Tone & Character for Recording
The Artisan Medium Light produces a rich, warm tone that cuts through dense mixes while maintaining articulate detail. Its responsive nature accommodates soft to loud dynamics without losing definition, making it an ideal choice for producers and engineers working across multiple percussion overdubs, session work, and layered arrangements where tonal consistency matters.
Construction & Craftsmanship
Traditional high-density hand hammering combines with modern jumbo-peen dimpling on the underside to create a cymbal engineered for any session. Each cymbal is individually hand-hammered and finished by master SABIAN artisans, ensuring consistency and tonal authenticity across recording sessions.

This cymbal is designed for intermediate, advanced, and professional percussionists. Its quick response and dynamic sensitivity reward proper technique, making it less forgiving for beginners but ideal for musicians with established control and ear.
Is this cymbal suitable for rock or heavy music?
No. The Artisan Medium Light is engineered for orchestral, classical, and audition work. Its splashier character and shorter sustain are optimized for soft articulation and rapid definition rather than the crash and swell needed in rock or heavy drumming.
What makes this different from other 18" orchestral cymbals?
The SABIAN Artisan Sym combines traditional high-density hand hammering with modern jumbo-peen dimpling on the underside, and each cymbal is individually crafted by master artisans. This bridges vintage orchestral sound with the responsiveness and consistency today's performers demand, making it comparable to models like the Zildjian K Medium Light 18" and Paiste 2002 Medium 18".
What is included with this cymbal?
You receive the 18" Artisan Sym Medium Light cymbal itself and a one-year SABIAN warranty covering the instrument.
