Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this splash good for live performance?
The 12-inch size delivers fast response and punchy high-end cut that projects through a mix and suits dynamic, articulate playing in rock and pop settings. The precision hammering and lathing process ensures consistent response night to night.
How does B8 bronze compare to other materials?
B8 bronze is a foundational alloy that delivers warm, complex tones with genuine bronze character and articulate definition. It offers pure tone at entry-level pricing, making it an accessible step up from beginner cymbal sets.
Is this cymbal suitable for jazz or folk music?
No, the B8X Splash is optimized for rock, pop, hard rock, and styles that benefit from bright, cutting accents. Its punchy high-end character is not ideal for the softer, sustained tones typical of jazz or folk playing.
What size is this cymbal and what does that mean for tone?
At 12 inches, this splash is compact and produces exceptionally fast response with quick, articulate accents. The smaller size generates faster decay than larger splashes, making it ideal for punctuation and dynamic articulation.
What finish does it have?
The B8X features a natural finish with no lacquer coloration, allowing the pure bronze composition to deliver authentic, uncolored tone. The hammered bell construction contributes to its warm and complex character.
