Description
Martin VDO Sceptron Round Diffuser 1000mm
The Martin VDO Sceptron Round Diffuser 1000mm is a field-exchangeable optical accessory engineered to modify the light output characteristics of Martin's VDO Sceptron lighting fixture family. This polycarbonate diffuser clips securely onto compatible fixtures, enabling quick beam shaping without tools or permanent modification. Studio engineers and production technicians value this component for its ability to expand coverage while maintaining fixture integration in session and installation environments where rapid reconfiguration is critical.
Optical Performance & Coverage
The diffuser's 260-degree viewing angle spreads light output across a substantially wider field than the bare fixture, reducing beam harshness and creating more uniform wash coverage across studio and performance spaces. This expanded angular distribution makes the diffuser essential for mid-to-close-range wash applications where tight beam control compromises session flexibility and even illumination.
Design & Integration
Constructed from durable polycarbonate, the diffuser withstands repeated rigging and temperature cycling typical of studio and production environments. The 1000mm length (39.4 inches) matches the VDO Sceptron fixture's optical tube geometry, and the field-exchangeable design allows technicians to swap diffusers on-site without breaking down the primary fixture or accessing internal components—minimizing setup time between recording sessions or live captures.
