Ibanez JS2450MCP Joe Satriani Guitar Muscle Car Purple B-Stock
The JS2450MCP is engineered for studio and live recording work that demands responsive dynamics and expressive articulation. Its lightweight construction at combined with the carefully tapered neck profile reduces fatigue during long tracking sessions, while the 25.5" scale length and rosewood fingerboard deliver the precision intonation and smooth articulation essential for capturing clean takes and layered textures.
Playability & Recording Response
The 3-piece maple/bubinga neck with 42mm nut width and progressive thickness (20mm at the 1st fret, 22.3mm at the 12th) offers the control needed for detailed performance capture and bent-note precision. The 24 tall-jumbo frets with Prestige edge treatment and 250mm radius fingerboard enable smooth vibrato control and consistent fretting across single-note passages and chord work, while the Edge double locking tremolo bridge with carbon fiber Ultralite tremolo arm locks in tuning through aggressive modulation effects and studio-level vibrato techniques.
Tone & Electronics for Mix Integration
The dual-humbucker setup pairs the Satch Track humbucker at the neck with the aggressive Mo' Joe humbucker at the bridge, capturing articulate lead textures and full-bodied rhythm tones that sit well in dense mixes. The high-pass filter on the push/pull volume control and coil-tap switch on the tone control provide on-the-fly tonal shaping for session versatility, letting you dial in bright, cutting articulation for solos or thick, full-range warmth for rhythm parts without changing instruments.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does B-stock mean, and what cosmetic condition should I expect?
B-stock indicates this guitar is fully functional with its original Prestige quality and components intact, but carries minor cosmetic imperfections from warehouse handling or display. The Muscle Car Purple gloss finish and hardware are unaffected in playability or tone—you're buying a complete, road-ready instrument at a reduced price.
Is this guitar suitable for my skill level and playing style?
The JS2450MCP is built for intermediate, advanced, and professional players and excels in rock, progressive, and blues. Its articulate single-coil-like bright character and aggressive bridge voicing, combined with smooth neck response, make it less ideal for funk or djent styles that demand different tonal characteristics.
What tonal range does the dual-humbucker setup deliver?
The Satch Track neck humbucker and Mo' Joe bridge humbucker pair with a coil-tap switch and high-pass filter to span from bright, articulate lead tones to full-bodied rhythm warmth. You can dial in single-coil-like articulation for cutting leads or engage full humbucker thickness for dense chords and sustain.
Will the tremolo stay in tune during heavy vibrato use?
The Edge double locking tremolo bridge with carbon fiber Ultralite arm is engineered for tuning stability through aggressive vibrato work and pitch shifts, a hallmark of the JS signature platform's design for performing musicians.
What's included with this guitar?
The JS2450MCP ships with a hardshell case and the carbon fiber Ultralite tremolo arm, providing protection and the exact setup Joe Satriani designed for the platform.
