Sound & Tone
The okoume body with flamed maple top pairs a warm, rounded low end with added top-end snap, while the bolt-on 3-piece maple neck and Panga Panga fretboard keep notes tight and clearly defined. Dual Nordstrand Big Break active pickups give you a fat, punchy neck voice and a more cutting bridge tone, and the Ibanez Custom 2-band active EQ lets you push the lows for weight or lift the highs for pick attack and clarity. On a 34" scale with .045–.105 strings and 19mm spacing, it sits comfortably in rock, metal and progressive settings, handling fingerstyle grooves, pick-driven riffing and slap lines with equal authority.
Ibanez ICB720FM Iceman Bass in Cosmic Blue Starburst with Gig Bag
The Ibanez ICB720FM Iceman Bass delivers a distinctly articulate, punchy voice in the studio and translates that character reliably to live tracking sessions. Its angular body profile pairs ergonomic neck access with a comfortable recording position, allowing extended takes without fatigue. The offset silhouette commands visual presence in promotional shots and video content, while the Cosmic Blue Starburst finish photographs exceptionally well under studio lighting.
Build & Construction
An okoume body with flamed maple top finished in gloss polyurethane provides the tonal clarity and midrange articulation critical for bass tracks that cut through dense mixes. The 3-piece maple neck with satin polyurethane finish and bolt-on joint ensures consistent setup stability across recording sessions, while the bound Panga Panga fretboard with 22 medium frets and acrylic block inlays supports precise intonation and repeatable performance. At 34" scale with a 41mm nut width, 305mm radius, and 19mm string spacing, the bass accommodates both fingerstyle and pick-driven techniques with minimal adjustment between takes.
Electronics & Tone
Dual Nordstrand Big Break active pickups at neck and bridge capture clean, focused low-end with excellent transient definition—essential for capturing every playing dynamic during recording. The Ibanez Custom 2-band active EQ grants surgical control over low and high frequencies, allowing quick tone adjustments between takes without reaching for post-processing. This responsive electronics platform excels across rock, metal, and progressive production, sitting cohesively in any mix context.
