Sound & Tone
The 27" baritone scale and neck-through alder body keep low tunings tight and defined, with long sustain and a firm low end that stays articulate rather than muddy across all seven strings. The Fishman Fluence SRC pickups offer three voices via push-pull, moving from a midrange-focused modern active tone for heavy rhythm work to a brighter single-coil character for cleaner and more atmospheric passages. Paired with the macassar ebony board and extra-jumbo frets, it leans toward modern metal riffing, downtuned chugging, and lead lines that need clarity above a dense low register.
ESP LTD SCT-607B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Guitar Black
The SCT-607B is a neck-through baritone engineered for extended-range tracking and controlled sustain in the studio. Its thin U-profile neck and 27" scale capture deep, articulate lows while maintaining clarity across all seven strings, making this Stephen Carpenter signature model an essential tool for sessions demanding modern metal textures, atmospheric layering, and low tuning versatility.
Playability & Construction
Neck-through construction maximizes sustain and fretboard access for long takes and precise positioning, while the 3-piece maple neck and macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets ensure smooth tracking and consistent response across the entire range. The thin U contour and 48mm molded nut support the 7-string configuration without compromising intonation or session reliability.
Tone & Electronics
Dual Fishman Fluence SRC Signature pickups with push-pull voice selection provide three distinct tonal characters—from Stephen Carpenter's midrange-focused modern active voice to a cutting single-coil option for blending and layering. The TonePros locking TOM bridge with string-thru-body design locks in tuning stability between takes and maximizes sustain for controlled recording, while LTD locking tuners ensure your tuning holds tight throughout long sessions.

What genres and tunings is this guitar designed for?
This is purpose-built for metal, djent, progressive, and atmospheric music using extended drop tunings. It excels in heavy, modern contexts that demand articulate low-end response and tight, controlled sustain. It is not optimized for jazz, country, or blues playing.
How do the Fishman Fluence SRC pickups work?
The dual Fishman Fluence SRC Signature active pickups offer three distinct tonal palettes selectable via push-pull voice switching, ranging from Stephen Carpenter's midrange-tweaked modern voice to a cutting single-coil character, giving you tone flexibility without swapping pickups.
What hardware ensures tuning stability in drop tunings?
The instrument features a TonePros locking TOM bridge with string-thru-body design for maximum sustain and tuning lock, paired with LTD locking tuners that hold precise intonation reliably even under aggressive playing and tuning extremes.
What does neck-through construction provide?
Neck-through design maximizes sustain and sustain clarity, while providing seamless fretboard access all the way to the 24 extra-jumbo frets. The thin U contour and 48mm nut accommodate the 7-string configuration ergonomically without compromising intonation.
