Description
Sound & Tone
The active EMG 81 in the bridge cuts with tight, high-output aggression that keeps palm-muted riffing articulate under heavy gain, while the EMG 60 at the neck adds clarity and focus for lead lines. Mahogany body and neck-thru maple construction lend sustain and body to the low end, with the Macassar ebony board and 25.5" scale keeping note definition crisp and attack firm. The Floyd Rose 1000SE opens up dive bombs and vibrato work, making it a fit for modern rock, metal, and shred-oriented playing.
ESP LTD NV-1000 Black
The NV-1000 delivers a lightweight, supremely comfortable neck-thru platform with its thin U-shaped three-piece maple neck and mahogany body engineered for extended tracking sessions and overdub work. The reversed headstock and thin profile sit naturally in the lap during seated recording, with responsive fret access across the entire 24-fret fingerboard for capturing precise articulation and lead passes. Built for high-gain tracking and modern rock production, this instrument combines focused tone-shaping potential with genuine playability across a full session.
Construction & Recording Character
Neck-thru-body construction ensures superior sustain and resonance—critical for layering guitars and achieving definition in dense mixes—while the Macassar Ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets provides durability and fast, smooth playing feel for consistent takes. The 350 mm fingerboard radius balances comfortable chording on rhythm passes with modern lead work, and the 25.5" scale length maintains traditional tuning stability with standard gauge strings throughout long sessions.
Electronics & Tone Shaping
The Floyd Rose 1000SE double-locking tremolo with stainless steel screws delivers reliable pitch stability for expressive modulation effects and creative studio work, while Grover tuners and a locking nut ensure tuning retention even with deliberate whammy bar use. Active EMG 81 bridge and EMG 60 neck pickups provide high-output clarity and tight low-end response essential for capturing heavy tones, palm-muted rhythms, and clean separation in multi-tracked arrangements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What skill level is this guitar designed for?
The NV-1000 is engineered for intermediate to advanced and professional players. The thin U-shaped neck and 24 extra-jumbo frets favor fast modern lead work and extended techniques, while the aggressive pickup set and Floyd Rose system reward disciplined hand muting and pitch control.
Is this guitar suitable for tuning down or drop tunings?
Yes. The 25.5-inch scale length, 0.009–0.042 gauge string set, and active EMG pickups maintain tuning stability and tight low-end response even in extreme drop tunings, making it ideal for djent and modern metal.
What pickups are in the NV-1000, and how do they perform?
The guitar is equipped with an active EMG 81 in the bridge position and an EMG 60 in the neck. The 81 delivers high-output clarity and aggressive tone suited to heavy riffing and palm-mute articulation, while the 60 provides versatility for lead work and cleaner passages.
Does the Floyd Rose tremolo stay in tune during aggressive use?
The Floyd Rose 1000SE double-locking tremolo, paired with a locking nut, Grover tuners, and stainless steel screws, provides excellent pitch stability and tuning retention even with heavy whammy bar use during live performance or studio work.
What genres is this guitar best suited for?
The NV-1000 excels in metal, hard rock, djent, and modern drop-tuning styles where high-gain clarity, sustain, and palm-mute definition are priorities. It is not recommended for jazz, blues, or folk applications.
