Description
Sound & Tone
The 27-inch baritone scale keeps low tunings tight and defined, so downtuned riffs land with punch rather than flub, and the mahogany body with maple cap plus neck-thru construction adds sustain and a firm midrange backbone. The EMG 81 bridge pickup brings compressed, articulate attack for aggressive metal rhythm and lead work, while the EMG 60TW-R neck position offers a fuller voice that thins out into brighter, clearer territory when you split the coils with the push-pull tone control. Paired with the Macassar ebony fingerboard and string-thru TonePros bridge, it leans toward metal, detuned rock, and experimental playing where note separation at low pitches matters.
ESP LTD M-1000B Baritone Lefty Guitar — Black Satin
The M-1000B Baritone Lefty captures commanding low-end punch with clarity and articulation—ideal for tracking metal, detuned rock, and experimental sessions. The extended 27-inch baritone scale yields incredible sustain and note definition while maintaining tight, responsive string tension that translates to controlled, punchy recordings. The satin black finish resists fingerprints during tracking marathons, and the body contours support comfort whether you're playing seated at the desk or standing to commit takes.
Construction & Playability
Neck-thru-body construction with arched mahogany body and maple cap routes sustain and resonance directly through the instrument, building solid structural integrity for consistent session performance. The extra-thin three-piece maple neck and compound radius Macassar ebony fingerboard combine fast, accurate playability with ergonomic comfort during long recording passes, while LTD locking tuners lock in tuning between takes and handle alternate tunings without drift.
Tone & Electronics
EMG 81 bridge and EMG 60TW-R neck pickups with brushed black chrome covers deliver articulate, punchy tones with excellent low-frequency clarity and tracking definition. The coil-splitting via push-pull tone control expands your recording toolkit from fat, compressed rhythms to brighter, more defined lead tones without swapping instruments, while the TonePros locking TOM bridge with string-thru-body design maximizes sustain and tonal transfer into your interface.

Frequently Asked Questions
What scale length is this baritone, and what tunings does it support?
The M-1000B features a 27-inch baritone scale length, designed to handle drop tunings and alternate detuning without loss of tension or clarity. The extra-long scale maintains playability and pitch stability even during aggressive play.
What pickups are in this guitar, and can I adjust the tone?
It comes equipped with an EMG 81 bridge pickup and EMG 60TW-R neck pickup, both with brushed black chrome covers for tight, punchy articulation. A push-pull coil-split on the tone control lets you expand from compressed rhythms to brighter lead tones.
Is this guitar suitable for left-handed players?
Yes—this is a dedicated left-handed baritone with reversed electronics, hardware, and body contours for comfortable left-hand play whether sitting or standing.
What construction method does it use, and how does that affect sustain?
The neck-thru-body design with an arched mahogany body and maple cap, combined with a TonePros locking TOM bridge and string-thru-body design, maximizes sustain and tonal transfer across the instrument's lifespan.
What skill level is this guitar aimed at?
The M-1000B is built for intermediate to advanced and professional players; the extra-thin three-piece maple neck and compound radius fingerboard deliver fast playability, but the low-end tone and alternate tuning design suit experienced musicians exploring metal, djent, and progressive styles.
