Sound & Tone
With a 27" baritone scale and eight strings tuned down to low F#, the JR-608 delivers a deep, tight low end that stays articulate rather than muddy, suited to modern progressive, djent-style, and experimental playing. The neck-through build of maple, walnut, and padauk, paired with a swamp ash body, quilted maple top, and string-thru-body Hipshot bridge, supports long sustain and clear note definition, while the macassar ebony fingerboard adds snap to fast, aggressive attack. The Fishman Javier Reyes Open Core humbuckers, a 5-way blade switch, and a mini-toggle voice select offer range from percussive high-gain riffing to cleaner, more open tones for chordal and lead work.
ESP LTD Javier Reyes JR-608 Electric Guitar Faded Blue Sunburst
The JR-608 is a baritone 8-string instrument engineered to capture an expansive range of pitch within a single tracking source, enabling layered arrangements and complex harmonic textures in your productions. The neck-through construction combined with a 27" scale length delivers responsive articulation and sustain ideal for recording both crystalline high-end detail and deep, controlled low-end definition, while the thin U neck contour supports precision tracking during multi-take sessions and detailed performance capture. This is a dedicated tool for producers and engineers seeking extended tonal palette and reliable intonation stability across demanding session work.
Build & Construction
The 5-piece maple/walnut/padauk neck-through body provides structural integrity and tonal clarity in the recording chain, with swamp ash delivering articulate resonance that cuts through dense mixes and a quilted maple top adding harmonic character and sustain for complex layering. Hardware includes a Hipshot bridge with string-thru-body setup for stable intonation and enhanced sustain across all eight strings—critical for tight, punchy recordings—while LTD locking tuners ensure reliable pitch stability throughout extended tracking sessions and punch-in work.
Playability & Recording Response
The macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets and custom abalone offset block inlays supports precise fretting and dynamic performance capture across the full range. Electronics center on a pair of Fishman Javier Reyes Open Core Humbuckers with a mini-toggle voice select switch for tonal flexibility within a single take, complemented by master volume and master tone controls and a 5-way blade pickup switch for shaping the signal path during recording and mixing.
