Sound & Tone
The EMG 81 in the bridge gives a tight, high-output attack that stays articulate under heavy gain, while the EMG 85 at the neck fills out leads with a warmer, thicker voice and clear note separation. Alder body, three-piece maple neck-thru construction and an ebony fingerboard push the tone toward brightness and long sustain, and the 25.5" scale keeps string tension firm for low-tuned riffing. With 24 XJ frets, a flat 13.78" radius and a Kahler Hybrid tremolo, it's aimed squarely at thrash and metal players working fast picking, extended-range soloing and dive-bomb vibrato.
ESP LTD JH-600 CTM Jeff Hanneman Guitar Black
The JH-600 CTM captures the aggressive sonic character and recording profile that defined Jeff Hanneman's metal tone. Neck-thru construction provides superior sustain and resonance—critical for cutting through dense mixes and maintaining definition during heavy processing. The Extra Thin U-shaped neck profile enables rapid note transitions and precise articulation across all registers, essential for tight studio takes and layered tracking sessions.
Recording & Tracking Performance
The 25.5" scale length combined with 24 XJ frets establishes a platform for expansive playing techniques while maintaining ideal string tension for powerful riffs and articulate lead work that translates clearly to tape. A 350mm (13.78") fingerboard radius with ebony fingerboard and red star inlays supports precise finger work and smooth bends without compromising control—critical for repeatable takes and overdubs. The 42mm nut width paired with Grover tuners ensures rock-solid tuning stability during extended recording sessions, especially when using the tremolo system for expressive studio effects and layered arrangements.
Tone & Electronics
The EMG 85 neck pickup delivers rich, warm tones with excellent note definition for tracking rhythm and lead work, while the EMG 81 bridge pickup provides high output and articulate attack ideal for heavy music applications and punch through dense mixes. The Kahler Hybrid bridge maintains precise intonation across all strings while enabling expressive vibrato without tuning instability—crucial for maintaining consistency across multiple takes and overdubs. Three-piece maple neck construction and alder body contribute brightness and sustain to both clean and heavily distorted tones, ensuring your recordings remain defined and powerful regardless of gain staging.
