Description
Sound & Tone
The mahogany body and set-neck construction give the EC-256 a warm, thick low end and sustaining midrange, while the ESP LH-150N and LH-150B humbuckers stay articulate and dynamic from clean chording to saturated leads. The 24.75" scale and Tune-o-matic bridge reinforce that familiar single-cut voice — compressed and punchy at the bridge, rounder and vocal at the neck — with the pull-volume coil-splits thinning things out for brighter, more open rhythm tones. It suits classic and hard rock, blues, and metal rhythm work, and the thin U neck with extra-jumbo frets supports bend-heavy lead playing across those styles.
ESP LTD EC-256 Silver Sunburst Teardrop Electric Guitar
The EC-256 captures the resonance and sustain that set-neck construction brings to recording sessions, while its thin U-shaped neck contour and 24.75" scale length ensure fast, precise tracking and layering. The mahogany set-neck construction and silver sunburst teardrop finish combine to produce a guitar with natural compression and harmonic richness—essential qualities when tracking lead parts, rhythm beds, or both in a single session. This model balances genuine craftsmanship with practical studio economics, making it a reliable foundation instrument for multitrack production across genres.
Recording Response & Playability
The thin U neck contour paired with a 350mm fingerboard radius and 22 extra-jumbo frets enables clean, repeatable single-note passages and smooth bending without lateral noise—critical for direct recording and overdub work. The 42mm molded nut maintains consistent tuning stability across takes, and the 24.75" scale locks into the familiar pitch relationships that integrate seamlessly with traditional single-cut tones in the mix.
Tone Shaping for the Mix
The ESP LH-150N and LH-150B pickups deliver defined midrange articulation and dynamic responsiveness—traits that translate well through audio interfaces and sit cleanly in stereo imaging. The pull-volume coil-split functionality on each pickup expands your tonal palette within a single take, from thick, compressed rhythm tones to bright, articulate lead work. The volume/volume/tone with push/pull and toggle switch layout lets you access classic single-cut voicing without patching, preserving headroom and punch in your recording chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
What skill level is this guitar designed for?
The EC-256 is built for intermediate to professional players. Its thin U-shaped neck, 22 extra-jumbo frets, and 350mm fingerboard radius are engineered for smooth bending and lead work, making it ideal for players with established technique who play hard rock, rock, blues, and metal.
What tonal range do the pickups cover?
The dual ESP LH-150N and LH-150B pickups deliver articulate midrange and responsive dynamics with thick, compressed lows and bright, articulate highs. Each pickup includes pull-volume coil-split functionality, so you can tailor voicing from full humbucking to split tones without leaving the instrument.
How does the neck feel compared to a traditional Les Paul?
The EC-256 features a thin U-shaped neck contour that bridges classic single-cut ergonomics with modern accessibility—thinner and faster than a traditional Les Paul neck, while the 24.75-inch scale keeps familiar positioning for players used to single-cut designs.
What genres is this guitar best suited for?
The EC-256 excels in hard rock, rock, blues, and metal. Its articulate midrange, responsive dynamics, and coil-split versatility make it less suited to folk and country applications.
What hardware and electronics does it include?
The guitar features a TOM bridge with tailpiece and black hardware, dual volume controls, a master tone control, a toggle switch, and LTD tuners. The 42mm molded nut provides comfortable string spacing across the 24.75-inch scale.
