Sound & Tone
The EMG HZ F-H2 bridge humbucker drives a punchy, articulate voice with tight low-end grip and cutting upper mids, and the onboard ESP MM-04 active boost pushes leads further forward when you need them to sit on top of a mix. Neck-through maple construction over an alder body with an ebony fingerboard adds long sustain and a firm, focused attack, while the 25.5" scale and light .009-.042 strings keep the response snappy and bright. It's aimed squarely at modern metal rhythm and lead work — fast picking, scalloped-fret bends above the 19th, and Floyd Rose dive-bombs — though the bridge pickup's clarity carries into hard rock and alternative territory as well.
ESP Alexi Laiho Hexed Guitar Purple Faded Pinstripes
This is a seriously responsive instrument built for capturing aggressive, articulate takes in the studio—the thin, fast neck cuts through your hand effortlessly, handling lightning-fast lead passages or digging into heavy rhythm work, while the body's comfortable contours keep fatigue at bay even during extended recording sessions. The faded purple pinstripes with pinstripe detailing aren't just cosmetic; they're a visual reminder that this guitar has already seen some serious action and comes pre-broken in, ready to deliver consistent tonal performance at a moment's notice with a rock-solid build that translates technique directly into recordings.
Playability & Recording Performance
The neck-through construction with a thin U-profile maple neck provides exceptional stability and sustain for tracking, while the 25.5" scale and 305mm fingerboard radius create a fast, responsive playing surface that captures precise intonation across multiple takes. 24 extra jumbo frets with scalloped frets from the 19th onward enable precise articulation and effortless bending, making rapid position shifts and technical passages feel natural under your fingers and translating cleanly to tape.
Tone & Electronics for Studio Work
The EMG HZ F-H2 bridge pickup paired with passive electronics and an active boost switch (ESP MM-04) delivers a punchy, articulate tone with incredible clarity and sustain that cuts through dense mixes, giving you the aggressive bite and definition that modern metal production demands while staying versatile enough for alternative rock and hard rock sessions. The Floyd Rose Original bridge with locking Gotoh tuners ensures tuning stability through extended tracking and intense session work.
