Description
EMG S/S/89 Active Single Coil Pickup Set in Black
The EMG S/S/89 delivers a complete three-pickup solution for recording and mixing versatility—dual single-coil clarity in neck and middle positions paired with a bridge humbucker element, all in EMG's solderless format that installs without permanent modifications to your instrument. This configuration captures articulate, noise-free active tone across multiple positions, maintaining the traditional single-coil snap needed for clean takes while accessing full bridge aggression when layering or stacking tracks.
Tone & Frequency Response for Tracking
AlNiCo 5 magnets establish the warm, responsive foundation that defines EMG's single-coil character; the bridge 89 dual-mode element adds full humbucker authority for aggressive tracking moments. The combination balances treble clarity with controlled midrange, translating cleanly to mix across genres—from pop and funk rhythm work to rock and metal overdubs where punchy, articulate tones sit forward in a dense arrangement.
Installation & System Integration
The solderless system integrates push/pull volume and tone controls with a battery bus powering all three pickups, eliminating soldering complexity and enabling straightforward future modifications or session-specific swaps. Included connecting cables, output jack, battery cable, and mounting hardware provide a complete, ready-to-wire installation that keeps studio setup time minimal.
