Description
EMG Revelation Passive Humbucker Pickup Set in Chrome
The EMG Revelation captures articulate, balanced tone without the maintenance demands of active electronics or battery replacement. This passive humbucker set pairs Alnico II magnets with precision-wound custom bobbins to deliver clarity and midrange presence across all six strings—essential for tracking sessions where tonal consistency matters. Built for engineers seeking vintage-informed response with modern reliability, the Revelation works equally well in Gibson-style cavities or retrofit applications.
Tone & Electronics
Alnico II magnets and moderate DC resistance (13.5K bridge / 13.8K neck) establish a warm yet articulate character ideal for cutting through dense mixes, while the resonant frequencies of 3.25 kHz and 3.41 kHz emphasize vocal midrange and reduce harshness in recorded takes. The 4-conductor plus shield wiring enables flexible coil-splitting and series/parallel configurations for session-to-session tonal shaping without external circuitry.
Design & Build
Stainless steel covers protect the windings and contribute to the chrome aesthetic, while solderless connectivity streamlines installation and future modifications in the studio. The set ships with all necessary components—500k volume and tone potentiometers, stereo output jack, two-pickup bus, mounting screws, and interconnect cables—ready for immediate wiring and recording sessions.
