Description
EMG Revelation Passive Humbucker Pickup Set in Black Chrome
The EMG Revelation passive humbucker set captures authoritative output and articulate response without active electronics or battery drain in the studio. Covered in brushed black chrome, these pickups are precision-wound on custom bobbins and paired with Alnico II magnets to deliver balanced, musical tone from neck and bridge positions. Designed for tracking and mixing sessions where professional-grade construction and straightforward installation support workflow efficiency.
Recording Tone & Magnetic Character
The Alnico II magnetic structure yields warm, organic sustain with natural harmonic bloom—characteristic of passive designs that sit well in dense mixes. Bridge output reaches 300 Gauss with 13.5K DC resistance, while the neck delivers 250 Gauss at 13.8K resistance, ensuring responsive dynamics and clear note definition that translates accurately to tape or DAW across both positions.
Installation & Wiring System
The solderless connectivity system streamlines installation, eliminating the need for a soldering iron and reducing downtime between sessions significantly. The complete kit includes two 500k volume potentiometers, two 500k tone potentiometers, a stereo output jack, mounting hardware, and cables—everything required for a complete pickup swap without additional components.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included in this pickup set?
The kit includes two Alnico II humbuckers (neck and bridge), two 500k volume potentiometers, two 500k tone potentiometers, a stereo output jack, mounting hardware, cables, and a solderless connectivity system for wiring.
Do these pickups require a battery or active power?
No. The Revelation set is fully passive—no battery, no active circuitry, and no ongoing power management required. Plug in and play.
What genres and playing styles are these pickups best suited for?
These pickups excel in hard rock, metal, rock, and blues applications. Their warm sustain and articulate response are optimized for high-output, tonally defined genres and are less suited to jazz and folk styles.
Do I need to solder these pickups, or is soldering required?
No soldering needed. The solderless connectivity system allows you to complete the installation without a soldering iron, reducing setup time and making the swap accessible to players without wiring experience.
How do these compare to other pickup options?
The Revelation set is comparable in performance to the Seymour Duncan 59, DiMarzio Super Distortion, and EMG 81/85, offering balanced output and articulate response with the simplicity and reliability of passive design at a competitive price point.
Do I pay sales tax on this order?
Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. At a typical 7% rate that is an estimated $17 less at checkout than the same listed price on a marketplace, which collects sales tax as the facilitator in most states.
