What's the difference between the bridge and neck pickups in this set?

The bridge pickup outputs 300 Gauss with 13.5K resistance and resonates at 3.41 KHz, delivering a focused, articulate response. The neck pickup outputs 250 Gauss with 13.8K resistance and resonates at 3.25 KHz, offering a warmer and more open character for rhythm work and clean tones.

Is solderless installation really easier than traditional wiring?

Yes. The pickups use 4-wire-plus-shield conductors with solderless connectivity, and the two-pickup bus architecture routes both pickups through a unified signal path, simplifying installation while maintaining signal integrity and noise rejection. All wiring hardware and electronics are included.

What genres and playing styles are these pickups best suited for?

The Revelation set is designed for blues, rock, jazz, and studio sessions where warm tone and dynamic responsiveness matter. These are passive pickups optimized for authentic tone, not high-gain metal or djent applications.

What's included in the box?

The set includes both the bridge and neck pickups, two 500K volume potentiometers, two 500K tone potentiometers, a stereo output jack, a two-pickup bus wiring harness, and mounting hardware—everything needed for a complete retrofit.

How do these compare to other passive humbuckers?

The Revelation set sits between the warm character of a Seymour Duncan '59 and the articulation of a DiMarzio Super Distortion, with Alnico 2 magnets and refined midrange focus. They offer true passive response without the active circuitry of models like the EMG H4, giving you authentic dynamics and natural sustain.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

We collect sales tax only on orders shipped to California. Orders shipped to any other US state are charged $0 sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. On this item that is roughly $16 less out the door than the same listed price at a national retailer or on a marketplace. Marketplaces such as eBay, Reverb and Amazon collect sales tax in nearly every state as marketplace facilitators no matter who the seller is, so the same item at the same price costs less bought direct. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included. Some states ask buyers to self-report use tax on out-of-state purchases.

EMG Revelation Long Shaft Passive Humbucker Pickup Set in Ivory

The EMG Revelation set captures warm, articulate tones with the dynamic responsiveness of true passive circuitry and the installation convenience of solderless connectivity. Built around Alnico 2 magnets, these covered humbuckers deliver a refined character that sits naturally in a mix while maintaining the organic pick-attack sensitivity and string dynamics essential to modern recording. The included electronics package—potentiometers, output jacks, and bus wiring—provides everything needed for a complete pickup retrofit without additional sourcing.

Tone & Resonance

The bridge pickup generates 300 Gauss at the pole with 13.5K DC resistance, producing a focused, articulate midrange response that cuts through dense arrangements and remains defined during layered tracking. The neck pickup's 250 Gauss output and 13.8K resistance yield a warmer, more open character ideal for lead and rhythm overdubs. Resonant frequencies of 3.41 KHz (bridge) and 3.25 KHz (neck) establish a natural voice that responds authentically to both aggressive and nuanced playing styles—critical for capturing expressive takes in the studio.

Installation & Signal Path

Solderless connectivity and 4-wire-plus-shield conductors streamline installation while maintaining signal integrity and noise rejection across cable runs. The included two-pickup in/out bus architecture routes both pickups through a unified signal path, minimizing impedance mismatches and ensuring consistent recording levels across rhythm and lead captures.
