EMG RA5 Pro Retro Active Prewired Pickguard Pickup in White
The EMG RA5 Pro delivers the clarity and articulation of active single-coil electronics in a modern, drop-in format. This prewired pickguard assembly combines classic Strat aesthetics with contemporary active electronics, offering a straightforward upgrade path that eliminates soldering complexity. The white finish provides clean visual integration across tracking and performance sessions.
Active Electronics & Tone Shaping
Three Maverick Five active single-coil pickups with Alnico V magnets and 3kΩ DCR coils capture articulate highs and defined low-end response ideal for layering and mixing. The 1 Volume control and 2 tone controls with High-End rolloff enable independent tone sculpting for neck and middle pickups, while the 5-position selection switch accesses all classic Strat voicings for versatile session work. Running on just 600 micro-amps at 9 volts, this system minimizes battery drain during extended recording sessions without sacrificing output headroom or signal integrity.
Installation & Studio Integration
The solderless quick-connect installation system reduces setup time and allows straightforward integration into existing cavities without rewiring workflows. The modern-style pickguard with 11 holes and Strat-style design fit standard single-coil routing, while the low-impedance output ensures clean signal transmission through your console, interface, or mixing chain with minimal noise floor contribution.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included, and do I need to solder anything?
The RA5 Pro comes as a complete prewired pickguard assembly with a solderless quick-connect installation system. You do not need to solder—the system drops into standard single-coil Strat routing in existing cavities, making installation straightforward for players of any skill level.
How long will the 9-volt battery last?
The system draws only 600 micro-amps at 9 volts, resulting in minimal battery drain compared to many active systems. Actual battery life depends on how frequently you play, but the low power draw means extended time between changes.
What genres and playing styles is this best suited for?

How does the tone control setup work?

Will this fit my existing Strat-style guitar?
The modern-style pickguard with 11 holes and Strat-style design fits standard single-coil routing. Verify that your guitar has a standard Strat cavity and routing before purchasing to ensure compatibility.
