Description
EMG P60 Long Shaft Active P90-Size Humbucker Pickup in White
The EMG P60 captures articulate, punchy tone in a compact P90-style format with the reliability of active circuitry. The long shaft potentiometer accommodates thicker control plate materials, making this pickup ideal for custom builds and retrofits where standard shaft lengths fall short. Its ceramic magnet design produces high output with extended treble response, cutting through mix with clarity and definition.
Recording & Mix Performance
Active operation across a 9V–27V range ensures consistent gain and frequency response across sessions, regardless of power supply choice. The 2.20 MHz resonant frequency and 10 KOhm output impedance combine to yield full treble articulation and aggressive output that tracks well on tape and digital systems, translating rock, metal, and high-gain tones with presence and punch.
Installation & Session Integration
The complete solderless install system includes everything needed for immediate integration into your rig: matched 25K volume and tone potentiometers, battery bus, stereo output jack, dual pickup in/out bus connectors, mounting hardware, and all necessary cables. This approach eliminates soldering and streamlines wiring on single or multi-pickup setups, reducing downtime between tracking sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What voltage does the P60 require, and how long do batteries last?
The P60 operates on 9V–27V (batteries not included) and delivers approximately 3000 hours of battery life per charge. This range gives you flexibility in power supply choice while maintaining consistent gain and frequency response.
Is soldering required to install this pickup?
No. The EMG P60 includes a complete solderless wiring system with matched 25K volume and tone potentiometers, battery bus, stereo output jack, dual pickup connectors, mounting hardware, and all necessary cables. Installation is plug-and-play.
Will this pickup fit a standard P90 route, and what is the long shaft potentiometer for?
Yes, the P60 fits standard P90 routes with 3.125 inch screw spacing. The long shaft potentiometer (18.7mm) accommodates thicker control plates common in custom builds and retrofits where standard shaft lengths don't reach through the material.
What tone should I expect, and what styles is it best for?
The P60 delivers high output with extended treble, articulate attack, and aggressive clarity—ideal for metal, hard rock, and high-gain applications. Its 2.20 MHz resonant frequency and ceramic magnet design cut through dense mixes with punchy definition.
What are the physical dimensions and output impedance?
The P60 measures 3.36 inches long, 1.365 inches wide, and 0.877 inches tall, with a 10 KOhm output impedance. These specs ensure compatibility with most wiring schemes and modern amplifier inputs.
Do I pay sales tax on this order?
