EMG MM5CS 5-String Active Humbucker Bass Pickup in Black
The EMG MM5CS is a high-output active humbucker designed specifically for five-string basses, capturing authoritative low-end presence and articulate midrange punch in the studio and on tape. This bridge-position pickup combines dual-coil design with wide bobbins and large coil surface area for maximum signal capture and transparency across all five strings. The solderless installation system and pre-wired connectivity streamline integration into any bass rig, minimizing downtime between tracking sessions.
Tone & Recording Character
Active electronics deliver consistent, noise-free performance with superior shielding—critical for layering bass tracks without hum or artifacts in post-production. The ceramic and steel construction yields punchy, defined tone with fast attack and controlled sustain, sitting tight in dense mixes whether tracking slap, fingerstyle, or pick-driven parts across modern and classic material.
Installation & Studio Workflow
Complete solderless system eliminates setup barriers; all connections are pre-wired and ready to integrate into your tracking bass. The included potentiometers, battery bus, output and input cables, and fixing hardware handle everything necessary for quick, professional installation before session work begins.
