Description
EMG 60 Active Humbucker Pickup in Black
The EMG 60 is a high-output active humbucker engineered to capture articulate, punchy tones with minimal noise in the recording chain. Built with a ceramic magnet and housed in a durable epoxy casing, this pickup delivers the clarity and sustain that active electronics are known for. Its aggressive midrange presence paired with tight lows makes it versatile across rock, metal, and contemporary production styles—translating consistently to tape or digital recording regardless of gain staging.
Tone & Recording Response
The 2.2 KHz resonant frequency centers the pickup's response in the vocal midrange, delivering definition without harshness—a critical advantage when tracking multiple guitars or layering parts. Output measures 3 V on single notes and 4.5 V on strummed chords, with an exceptionally clean -101 dBV noise floor at 60 Hz—ensuring your interface and mixing console receive pristine signal integrity, even at high gain settings or long cable runs to preamps.
Power & Studio Specs
This active design runs on a standard 9-volt battery with an impressive 3000-hour battery life, eliminating surprise power loss during sessions. The 10 KOhm output impedance and 80 mA current draw at 9V provide stable, low-impedance performance ideal for routing through studio gear, audio interfaces, and outboard preamps, while the maximum 27 V DC supply rating allows headroom for integration with custom studio configurations or phantom power solutions.
