Description
EMG HA Active Single Coil Pickup in Ivory
The EMG HA combines single-coil articulation with humbucking noise rejection, capturing bright, responsive tones that sit clearly in any mix without hum. Its compact active design integrates seamlessly into modern instruments, offering the clarity and snap of a traditional single coil with the electromagnetic shielding studio tracking demands. Built for producers and engineers who need definition without compromise, this pickup handles everything from clean tones to driven textures with consistent, predictable response across sessions.
Tone & Electronics
Active circuitry powered by a 9V battery provides consistent output and extended headroom compared to passive designs, translating to stable recording levels and minimal preamp coloration. The Alnico magnet and single-coil configuration within a humbucking housing produce a focused, punchy voice ideal for capturing modern rock, fusion, and versatile studio recordings with articulate note definition.
Installation & Workflow
The solderless installation system eliminates rewiring, allowing connectors to snap into place for straightforward mounting and faster instrument setup between sessions. The included split shaft volume/tone control set simplifies integration, and the two-year manufacturer warranty protects your investment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between this and a regular single-coil pickup?
The EMG HA houses a single-coil design inside a humbucking housing, so you get the bright, articulate character of a single coil while eliminating electromagnetic hum—a problem traditional single coils suffer in live and studio settings. Active electronics powered by a 9V battery boost output and headroom beyond passive designs.
Do I need to solder this pickup into my guitar?
No. The EMG HA uses a solderless installation system with connectors that snap into place, making setup fast and straightforward. A split shaft volume/tone control set is included to complete the installation.
What genres and playing styles is this pickup best for?
The EMG HA excels in rock, fusion, and studio sessions where clarity and punch are priorities. It is not well suited to blues or jazz, where warm, thick single-coil character is typically preferred.
How long does the 9V battery last?
The description does not specify battery life. Typical active pickup batteries last months to a year depending on how often the instrument is played; consult EMG's documentation or customer support for precise longevity on this model.
What warranty does this pickup include?
The EMG HA includes a two-year manufacturer warranty protecting against defects.
Do I pay sales tax on this order?
Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces collect sales tax as the facilitator in most states, so the same listed price can cost more there. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.
