Description
EMG F-Super 77 Retro Active Humbucker Pickup Set in Zebra
The EMG F-Super 77 Retro Active Humbucker Pickup Set delivers articulate, controlled tracking with the visual appeal of classic zebra coils. This matched pair combines ceramic magnets with EMG's solderless installation system, enabling quick integration into any humbucker-routed instrument without extensive rewiring. The set balances clarity and sustain, engineered for recording sessions and mixing scenarios where definition and noise rejection translate directly to cleaner, more usable tracks.
Tone & Output Character
The neck pickup resonates at 3.12 kHz while the bridge sits at 2.33 kHz, creating distinct frequency separation that preserves articulation across the fretboard and sits cleanly in dense mixes. Output remains controlled with neck and bridge both yielding 4.25V and 4.0V respectively on single-string hits, reaching 8.0V at maximum strum—enough punch for defined attack without overwhelming headroom or requiring heavy compression in your DAW.
Installation & Signal Path
The Quik-Connect solderless system eliminates traditional wiring complexity; the included preamp draws only 350 microamps at 9V, delivering approximately 715 hours of battery life before replacement. A pair of 25K volume and 25K tone potentiometers ships with the set, along with a stereo output jack, mounting hardware, and interconnect cables for plug-and-play integration into your recording chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the solderless Quik-Connect system include?
The set ships with the solderless preamp, 2× 25K volume pots, 2× 25K tone pots, battery bus, stereo output jack, mounting hardware, and interconnect cables. No soldering is required—everything connects plug-and-play.
How long does the battery last?
At 350 microamps draw on a 9V battery, you get approximately 715 hours of playing time before needing replacement.
What's the output level and tone character?
Neck and bridge outputs are controlled and articulate: neck yields 4.25V on single string and 8.0V at maximum strum, bridge is 4.0V and 8.0V respectively. Resonant frequencies of 3.12 kHz (neck) and 2.33 kHz (bridge) preserve clarity and sustain across the fretboard with noise floors of −98 dB and −96 dB.
Will these fit my guitar?
Yes—the F-Super 77 installs into any humbucker-routed instrument. The solderless system eliminates rewiring complexity, though you'll need humbucker cavities already in place.
Are these better for rock and metal than jazz or blues?
These pickups are voiced for rock, metal, and hard rock with tight definition and noise rejection; they are not voiced for jazz or blues playing styles.
