Description
EMG JH "Het" Active Humbucker Pickup Set in Brushed Black Chrome
The EMG JH "Het" Set captures the aggressive, articulate voice required for modern metal production—tight low-end definition, punchy midrange presence, and controlled high-frequency clarity that cuts through dense mixes. These active humbuckers excel in drop-tuned sessions and high-gain tracking, delivering the separation and definition needed when layering rhythm and lead guitars in the studio. Built for recording applications where pickups must respond transparently to picking dynamics and maintain authority across multiple takes.
Tone & Recording Characteristics
The neck pickup features individual ceramic poles and bobbins with a larger core for warmth and articulation, while the bridge model uses steel pole pieces for tighter, more focused output. Both pickups maintain 10 kΩ DC resistance, with resonant frequencies of 2.11 kHz (neck) and 1.61 kHz (bridge) that preserve definition across the frequency spectrum. Active circuitry powered by a single 9V battery—rated for over 1500 hours of playing time—ensures consistent output and headroom into any audio interface or amplifier chain during tracking sessions.
Construction & Studio Integration
Vacuum-sealed in epoxy, these pickups reject microphonic feedback and resist environmental stress for extended durability in repeated recording sessions. The solderless system includes all required connector wires, allowing straightforward installation without desoldering; dual 25k volume and tone potentiometers (10 mm shaft) integrate seamlessly with the included stereo output socket and battery bus for flexible gain staging.
