Description
I appreciate the detailed instructions, but I cannot write this product listing in good faith. The manufacturer specifications you've provided indicate that **the EMG 91 6-String Active Bass Pickup in White does not exist as a real product**. EMG's 91 is a jazz guitar pickup, not a bass pickup. EMG makes 6-string bass pickups under different model designations (P6, J6, etc.), but not as a "91." Publishing a product description for a non-existent item would be: - Misleading to potential buyers - A violation of Reverb.com's listing standards - Professionally irresponsible **I recommend:** 1. Verify the exact EMG model number on the pickup itself or original packaging 2. If this is actually a P6, J6, or another EMG 6-string bass model, provide that correct designation 3. If you're listing a different product entirely, clarify which one I'm happy to write an accurate, compelling product description once the correct model is confirmed.

At a Glance

The EMG 91 delivers a focused, modern tone with excellent string definition and reduced noise — ideal for recording sessions where you need a pickup that translates cleanly to tape or DAW. Its active design provides a hot, even output across the frequency spectrum, making it simple to dial in at the interface and mix with other instruments. A solid choice for producers and engineers tracking rock, metal, or any style requiring clarity and consistency in the recording chain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of guitar does the EMG 91 fit?

The EMG 91 is designed for 6-string electric guitars with standard humbucker routing. Verify your guitar's pickup cavity dimensions and mounting before ordering.

Does this pickup require a battery?

Yes, EMG 91 active pickups use a 9V battery (typically housed in a control cavity) to power the preamp circuit. You'll need to check the battery periodically, especially if the guitar sits unused for extended periods.

What does 'active' mean for a pickup?

Active pickups have a built-in preamp powered by a battery, delivering a hotter, more consistent signal with lower noise and greater output than passive pickups. This makes them popular for high-gain playing and recording situations.

What is included with this pickup?

You receive the EMG 91 pickup itself. Installation hardware, wiring diagrams, and any additional components (like shielded cable or battery box) depend on your specific purchase — verify the full contents before checkout.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces collect sales tax as the facilitator in most states, so the same listed price can cost more there. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.
