EMG 81-8H 8-String Active Humbucker Pickup in Brushed Gold

EMG 81-8H 8-String Active Humbucker Pickup in Brushed Gold

The EMG 81-8H captures aggressive, articulate recordings across all eight strings while maintaining the tight, punchy character that defines the legendary 81 design. This active humbucker resolves crystal-clear string separation and harmonic detail—essential for mixing extended-range metal and progressive sessions where individual note definition cuts through dense arrangements. The brushed gold finish provides visual distinction in your signal chain.

Recording & Signal Performance

The active 9V design ensures consistent output and minimal noise floor throughout tracking and overdub sessions. The 81-8H delivers controlled lows that lock into bass frequencies, focused midrange punch that sits well in dense mixes, and compressed highs that avoid harshness during high-gain recording—critical for drop-tuned material and aggressive palm-muted techniques where clarity and definition prevent mud.

Integration & Engineering

Engineered specifically for eight-string geometry, the 81-8H accommodates wider string spacing and captures the full frequency range of extended instruments without phase cancellation or dead spots. The brushed gold cover provides both electromagnetic shielding for studio noise rejection and tonal consistency across multiple tracking takes and session conditions.
